Beard Balm Or Beard Oil?

Beard Balm or Beard Oil?

Ok lets chat. It is not always an either or, but more like what do I need. I would look at this kind of like which does my car need; oil added or antifreeze added. The answer is maybe both maybe neither so I guess the best way to do this is to start with what each is good for.

About Beard Oil

Beard oil is a daily  or several times a day leave in conditioner/moisturizer and leave-in conditioner. Good quality beard oils like "Beards Until Skulls" are made of all natural oils (including decadent Shea Butter the rare Kokuma butter.) We do a custom blend of heavier oils/butters that take a while to absorb into your skin and beard without making your beard greasy and light oils that will rapidly absorb into your hair and skin for quick moisturizing.

The purpose of the beard oil is 2 fold

  • moisturize your skin to cut back on that embarrassing dandruff and itchy skin.
  • Moisturize and soften your beard to give you a softer healthier beard.

Despite the name, beard oil is not to make your skin and beard oily or greasy instead a quality beard oil will cut down on.

  • itching
  • dandruff
  • split ends (letting longer beards grow longer and healthier)
  • Stronger softer hair.
  • A glorious shiny beard.
  • Can work as a beard deodorizer
  • Can work as a stand alone cologne or unscented not clash with a cologne you are already fond of.

How to Use Beard Oil

Beards Until Skulls recommends using our beard oil along with our beard balm to get the best results. We offer gift kits at a discount that contain both.  (If you are going to use it with our beard balm we recommend you use the beard oil first and give it a few minutes to soak in.

To get the best possible results.

  • Wash your beard with a good shampoo (that neither strips nor coats your hair. Look for our shampoo due out 2022)
  • Pat beard dry with a towel until nearly dry.(The moisture left on your beard is reported to help moisturize it,)
  • Put a dime size amount of Beards Until Skulls beard oil into the palm of your hand and massage it into your skin and beard.
  • Brush the oil through you r beard with a boar's hair beard brush to properly distribute the conditioner through your beard and/or mustache.
  • Like every beard oil or leave in conditioner let it absorb into the pores of your hair. (Do not rinse it out.)
  • Repeat oil or wax application throughout the day as you feel it is needed.
  • It is believed by many that beard oil is especially helpful during the first couple of months to help with the itching. In later stages of growth and on longer beards it believed to help keep the hair healthy , stronger and help control split ends.

Do not use a plastic hair comb. Use a wooden comb made for beards if you're not going to use the brush. A wooden comb will not create the static and one properly made has teeth that are farther apart to limit breakage and pulling out those glorious whiskers.

About Beard Balms.

The finest beard balms work as a

  1. Beard Moisturizer
  2. Conditioner
  3. Styling aid.
  4. A cologne if scented.

Beard Balms/Waxes can be especially good for people who want to look better groomed and like they have a thicker beard. The thicker beard is due to the all natural shea butter, kokuma Butter, and beeswax that coat the hair follicles. This coating works as a moisturizer but also will give medium hold for beards that need control and shaping.
